Ormazd Patio Doors October 26th, 2017 - 04:09:30
Patio doors may be constructed from a broad spectrum of materials. These include glass which is the most common choice and which may be incorporated as a solid panel or in a multitude of small panels which are set within a frame. If you reside in colder climates you may consider having your glass double paned insulated or specially treated such that its able to trap the heat inside your home. Alternatively you could go for doors made from aluminum and vinyl which tend to be cheaper options ideal for those working with a tight budget. You should however keep in mind that you get what you pay for and should therefore not expect aluminum or vinyl doors to wear as well as the glass patio doors.
Remove the two screws holding the bottom section of the frame. There is one screw either side of the bottom section. Once these have been removed the bottom section can be prized away from the rest of the frame. Be careful not to lever against the glass or you could shatter it. When the bottom section is clear from the rest of the frame you will be able to remove the wheels. Some wheels have a screw holding them in and some are pressed into a holding bracket. If the retaining screws have rusted you can carefully drill them out taking care not to make the hole in the bottom section any bigger. Contact your local Hardware Store Glazing Shop or search on Google for replacement wheels.
Originally patio doors were all of the French Door variety; that is a pair of doors that are hinged at the sides and open from the middle each door pivoting in- or out-wards. French doors are still popular especially with builders of new homes as they are comparatively cheap and easy to accommodate in place of windows and offer an alternative evacuation route for families especially for elderly or disabled people to meet improved fire safety requirements.
Patios are designed to be a continuation of the house into the backyard area and with this in mind the doors often have quite a bit of glass in them to offer you a good view. While you may enjoy this view the thing is there are times when youd like to have some privacy separating you from others outside and vice versa. Controlling the amount of sunlight that enters the home through the patio doors is another issue of concern. Bright light shining into a room isnt always desirable so you need a solution that solves both problems at the same time.
