Vallee Patio Doors October 10th, 2017 - 01:57:18
Arguably French doors could be considered as retractable as each door can be pulled back. The advantage of retractable doors is that maximum access is possible between the two sides of the aperture whereas sliding panel doors generally overlap unless built to retract into a recess.
That solution is patio doors with built in blinds. While having blinds put over patio doors is nothing new having them built directly into the doors themselves is a modern invention. The convenience of blinds included with the door can save you a lot of time and money from searching high and low for the right set of blinds that will fit your doors. You can install them yourself or have a professional do this for you. First though youll need to do some research on what type of doors will fit best in your home.
While a wooden French door is normally constructed to be very sturdy you will want to make sure that the wood that is used for the doors construction is kiln dried. This will ensure that the exterior side will hold up to whatever weather it has to endure. With most French doors you will not have to worry too much about a door cracking or shrinking; but you will need to apply either coats of paint or stain from time to time. The next type of french patio doors you will likely find are vinyl doors. These types of doors are perfect for people looking for an easy to maintain French door. A vinyl door is a very durable door and will likely last you a great many years. However you will need to take caution as these doors are at risk for scratches and even dents.
Remove the two screws holding the bottom section of the frame. There is one screw either side of the bottom section. Once these have been removed the bottom section can be prized away from the rest of the frame. Be careful not to lever against the glass or you could shatter it. When the bottom section is clear from the rest of the frame you will be able to remove the wheels. Some wheels have a screw holding them in and some are pressed into a holding bracket. If the retaining screws have rusted you can carefully drill them out taking care not to make the hole in the bottom section any bigger. Contact your local Hardware Store Glazing Shop or search on Google for replacement wheels.
